What does it mean for a device to be Pro? Earlier this week we shared X-rays of the iPad Pro; today we got some beautiful captures of Microsoft’s Surface Pro and Surface Laptop. Our friends over at iFixit spotted the removal of the interchangeable SSD blade on the new Surface Pro, why? Presumably to make room for a beefier battery capable of powering faster processors, multitasking apps, higher res screens etc. The X-rays we took via Creative Electron’s new TruView™ Parts Counter reveal an interesting trend of trade offs between accessibility/repairability and performance/design. Is the cost of approaching (or chasing) “Professional” level performance worth the give-and-take customers and manufacturers are engaged in? Let us know how you feel!
