According to the tech gurus, one of the most rapidly growing industries is robotics. And it is fascinating stuff. Robotics is an interdisciplinary branch of engineering and science that includes mechanical, electronic, information engineering and computer science. Robotics deals with the design, construction, operation, and use of robots, as well as computer systems for their control, sensory feedback, and information processing. In other words, robots are, indeed, taking over the world. Well, the manufacturing world, that is. Don’t worry, we’re not talking Terminator stuff. These technologies are used to develop machines that can identify potential manufacturing flaws and guarantee precision through automation.
We at Creative Electron have created one of our own. To integrate robotics into x-ray technology, combined with 3D technology, is very exciting. This is not new. The concept of creating machines that can operate autonomously dates back to classical times, but research into the functionality and potential uses of robots did not grow substantially until the 20th century. From automotive manufacturing and printed circuit board production now relies on robotic automation.
Today, one of the most important advancements in robotics is the medical field. More lives are saved due to the ability to use robotic precision, microsurgery. And the future looks even more promising with plans to use microscopic robots that can be injected into the human body, to revolutionize medicine.
